"You realize that what you are doing, you could basically do on youtube for free. " "Maybe you aren't too bright after all Tom" "Steve-O has a youtube channel where he does videos occasionally."

Steve-o's videos look like they are compressed for 56k users

Youtubes compression quality sucks balls, Tom green's video compression technology is much better than Youtubes. Once you post your videos to Youtube they have partial rights to the video. If tom used youtube there would be a tacky youtube logo on HIS media.

How many television studios have you put in our living room? How many celebrities have you filmed at your house for the internet to see? Calling people dumb when they are breaking even with advertising costs makes you stupid >:|

Also hes been doing this for a few years i think he has a better idea of the money hes making compared to the cost of webovision.

You people really ?

new NBC show?

August 26, 2008 | 12:54 PM by Aaron Savoie, Saint John New Brunswick CANADA

Doing a little research on the fall tv season. They mention a mid-season (unnamed) show starring Amy Poehler from SNL. Hmmmm. Am I close? :)

The show won't be airing till January.
You do realize that your website is juat a very ex

August 26, 2008 | 12:50 PM by rick, TN

You realize that what you are doing, you could basically do on youtube for free. Granted the video quality would be worse but still. Steve-O has a youtube channel where he does videos occasionally. Maybe you aren't too bright after all Tom ? Keep spending the money....lol...then maybe you'll actually have to get a real job.

I own this. I don't own Youtube. I usually plan things 3 to 5 years ahead. You'll see. PS, this website doesn't cost me anything anymore. I am making a small profit each month from advertising already. Thanks Rick!
Hey Tom! :D

August 26, 2008 | 12:48 PM by Therese, Norway

Have you had a nice day so far? I actually woke up this night, five o clock, because I wanted to see you on air. But understood quickly you were not going to show your pretty face. Hehe, were you asleep? :) Well, I think it's a good idea that we have to pay a little, if we want to see you more often on webovision (every day maybe?;)). And I really hope everybody else thinks so too! I hope you're coming on the air soon! Love you Tom! :)

Worked for me Tom. Only had to sign up once. For all the others freaking out over nothing, try reloading the page or something. Don't assume it's a glitch. The light at the end of the tunnel, may be you.

One more thing!

August 26, 2008 | 12:22 PM by Aimee, Austin, Texas

Oh and another thing- please please please bring back the phones!! Calling in to say what's up to you was half the fun, and I miss it already... I don't have a webcam, so I can't be on the skype team :(
Don't let a few bad apples ruin the whole bushel for ya, you know? Besides they're the ones wasting their time trying to get to you, it just makes them looks every bit as stupid as they are, probably sitting in their mom's basements :)

Please reconsider it- by taking your phones down you're letting them win, and I know- all your fans know- that you are SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT!
Peace out dude!

No, I think by taking the phones down, we win. Call me on Skype!

I have checked my e-mail but i don't see anything. Maybe it got tossed into the junk folder and deleted... that would be my fault. Maybe it will get resent after i close my browser and attempt to look at your page again. I did register a loooooong time ago, maybe I'll try again and see if it helps.

Upcoming Projects

August 26, 2008 | 12:02 PM by Aric, Delaware, OH

I was just wondering what kind of show it was going to be for NBC. Will it be an actual show where you have multiple seasons and have to act? Or is it some little reality/game show or talk show?

Oh and I was also wondering when you were going to start filming for the movie "Sweet Baby Jesus"? It sounds like a fun little quirky movie and I'd just like to know if it's still going to be made with you in it.

Please Respond!

Thanks,

Aric

Actually if you clear your browsers cookies or don't accept cookies the site will ask for your email over and over again. So there. To you people having trouble, does your browser store cookies? Check in your preferences(in firefox it's under preferences->privacy).

Don't know what cookies is? - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie

There you go.

Now Tom. Pleaaaase will you do a barrel roll? A proper one in an airplane that is.

Thanks Karen C.

August 26, 2008 | 11:58 AM by Deputy ZIP Dog, CO

Karen,
I made the graphics & could provide them to the channel so they can get some bags made. I would not produce a finished product and sell it for personal gain.

Tom, I have used a real email every time. Try again Walter...

Have a great day guys!

OK...

August 26, 2008 | 11:57 AM by Wilma, Pinellas Park, FL

Tom. I just found you site/channel. I love it! I've enjoyed watching the archives. I have a few questions. What time does your show air live? I sat in front of my computer the other night and enjoyed the scenery hoping you would walk by or come on live but you didn't. I guess I'm just trying to figure this whole thing out. DOes you show come on every night or just Monday - Friday? I need a schedule!! Keep up the good work. You're awesome!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have a my-space page?

Seriously Tom, wtf?

August 26, 2008 | 11:54 AM by Aimee, Austin, Texas

Pay site? Are you kidding? Gee, way to dick over your loyal fans- some of us are broke college kids, you know. You should not charge for what you already do for free; if you lack sponsorship, I'm sorry, but it was your decision to go online with the Web-O-Vision, after all. Don't take it out on your fans, dude. That's totally not cool.

Maybe instead you should do a donation type thing via paypal, and give on-air shoutouts to the people cool enough to help out...

Tomgreen.com will always be free. We are just going to have a subscription service, so we can store all the archives.
Stupid e-mail entry

August 26, 2008 | 11:47 AM by Tony, OREGON

Hey Tom, please please please please please please please take off the damn e-mail sign in thing to your page. its so annoying. i hate it because i use firefox and it doesn't save cookies, so every time i come to your page i have to put in my email. its just frustrating because i check your page multiple times a day to see if you're on, and 90% of the time you aren't.

oh yes, get your phone line back. f skype. just keep it positive... calling in was half the fun . i'm not going to spend 60+ dollars for a POS camera and headset. most of the people who call in look foolish with the choppy picture and half-ass sound.

flip-flop back to 3 weeks ago!!!

Hmmm, you should only have to enter the email one time. Have you checked your email box and registered? We send you something that stops it from re-appearing.
Better Image

August 26, 2008 | 11:45 AM by Deputy ZIP Dog, The Internets

This is a better picture of the Tom Green reusable grocery tote. I am confused by the image compression on this blog. If an image is under 150k at a normal size why does it re-size? http://www.tomgreen.com/blogs/zip_dog

& yes Tom, every time I open up this site I have to enter an email.

If you don't enter your real email, then that happens. We will send you something in your email that will stop that.

Hey tom! This is Joe R. I called into your show during the todd phillips episode and asked the question about what was the craziest story about the 'hated' documentary and then asked for a shout out that i was just going to remain silent but i was hung up on before i could display my pure telephonic silence. haha. just wanted to say Hi and give you a picture that i took. hope all is weel and keep up the AWESOME work!!!

AGGHHH!!!

August 26, 2008 | 10:52 AM by the stranger, strangersound.com

I hope you are thinking about releasing all the archives on DVD! Otherwise, that would be a real bummer to see all that content go bye bye. :(

Not going to be free?

August 26, 2008 | 10:37 AM by B dizzle, Vista Holmes

I don't think I will be able to continue watching if this will not be free for long. Are you not making enough from your overpriced merchandise? I would love to buy a shirt, but with shipping costs it is almost 30$ a pop. I guess all of this is one big commercial for your future projects. If I am going to pay for programming it will be for Howard Stern. At least he has girls on the show, and sometimes they show boobies! I hope this is not too negative, it is just how I feel. I love the show and for the last two weeks I have been tuned in constantly. Please don't charge for what is now free.

Clean up mess!

August 26, 2008 | 09:37 AM by Grigori perelman, USSR

USSR is Soviet Russia. We are best country in world.

Now please, clean up mess in front of camera. I not like the monitor and cables there. Better with the view through window. Not easy to do espionage on American soil with so much crap blocking view. Hurry up or my boss will cut head off me.

That is all

The USSR no longer exists. The Soviet Union disbanded at the end of the cold war. Nice try. Next time you pretend to be from somewhere else, pick up an Atlas that was published in the last ten years. ;) Nice try Grigori.

August 26, 2008 | 07:20 AM by Ian, Toronto

Hey Tom, you seemed to be using the Canon G9 and i wanted to ask you you like it? I was thinking of getting one more for still photographs rather than video... what do you think is the #1 reason why you used it to shoot your little video?
Thanks!

I agree...

Andrew Dice Clay

August 26, 2008 | 05:31 AM by Brian, Illinois

Hey Tom, I have a Dice fan site and on part of my site I have interviews with Dice and I'd like to put up the videos of him on your show. Some of his appearances are linked here on your site, some are not. I'd like to upload them on another server and put them on my site. Is this OK to do? I can link or banner your site with each video. The interviews are just phenominal.

I've been a fan of his for over 10 years & a fan of yours since the MTV show. I loved when your would interview people with poop on the microphone!! I look foreward to your show here coming back live. This is my Dice site: http://www.geocities.com/kissingtheflames/dicemanrules.htm

hiatus is a break for a few weeks...how long is this hiatus

Well. I don't have any funding right now. So I am looking for a sponsor for the show. I also am shooting my new game show for Planet Green. Then I am going to New York for the month of October to shoot another fun TV show for NBC. I can't say what it is yet, but it's gonna be fun. I think you guys are going to enjoy it. It should be pretty fun for all of us here to watch. Thanks Paul.

How many people are watching

August 26, 2008 | 02:22 AM by Jose, 4chan.org

While searching through your emails on page 7 i found a message from one "James Butler" of Los Angeles California stating that he was pissed about friday, and that he would not tune in monday. You replied saying you wouldn't do a show on monday, and you where not bluffing.

We here at 4chan demand lulz, and because this "James Butler" thinks he can destroy that, we will destroy him. Just wanted you to know we got your back tom, no one fucks with you but us.

That's funny. I actually appreciate your sense of humor over there. I wonder if someday we could work together. And cause some real trouble.
Broaden viewers Increase ratings and have effortle

August 26, 2008 | 01:36 AM by John, Mount Vernon, Wa

Tom... or who ever reads this, I would like to propose an idea that could potentially increase your viewing audience. Get a popular pc Video Game server/s to sponsor your show and also possibly broadcast it and in turn you could sponsor them or the game. Video games are extremely popular and people who play them online are usually people who want to just unwind, have fun, and to converse with others around the world, which I imagine isn't too different from your shows audience. I'm one of those people and after watching the show I just thought this could be a good idea. I would suggest you contact Valve Software, which created and maintains the popular online games, Counter-Strike Source, Day of Defeat Source, and Team Fortress 2. I doubt a console game would do well because they don't allow as much freedom as a PC does. These games in particular, are supported by one of the only PC online gaming community engines, known as Steam, which itself is free, they also have one of the best user interfaces for online gaming which I think is almost perfect to accommodate an idea like this. For instance when a player joins a server they are greeted by an html web page, these usually have the server rules and description, but could be a good spot to have the broadcast feed.

So why would they watch the show rather than play the game? Here are some reasons; If it were a game where the player would die they might have to wait until that round is over before they could continue playing, they could then watch the live feed until the round ends. they would be able to talk(audio) to other "dead" people about the show. Or if the server is on a map that a player doesn't like they will often go into spectator's mode and wait for the map to change. Often players become drunk and lack coordination, making them subject to effortless fun like the "Tom Green's House Tonight". Ive been in servers where people talk about something funny on tv, then another person would say "hey, thats on here too," And before you know it, half the server is watching this show talking about it to eachother. Surprisingly lots of talking goes on in these servers that doesn't always pertain to just the game. Servers usually have "Admins" which is like a host or a referee, they have lots of control on what goes on in the game, for instance they can kick or ban; spammers, cheaters, excessive lagers, minors(children/kids), or just people that don't follow the rules. These servers can be very media expressive, such as options, where the player can listen to an online radio, and the admin or a regular can play a song or audio file that is in the server database, they usually play songs or popular movie/tv quotes, but could also play Toms raping or funny mementos. FYI, The game Team Fortress 2 is actually designed to have an underlying humorous style to it, so it would be almost perfect for this.

There are some possible drawbacks that I feel I could bring up, but nothing too serious; The video games I suggest are often all rated M, for blood, violence and language, there are, "spammers" which are like your "prankers" that can get very annoying and persistent, but they are avoidable. Some players may get some bandwidth problems with the feed while running a game at the same time, and there is usually a max of about 32 players per server at a time, not a lot of viewers but thousands of people would probably see the site name on the title near the top of the server list, more than likely increasing your ratings. The name "Tom Green" catches the eye at least it does mine... both of them! But seriously Its at least something you could look into, If you have any questions for me feel free to email me, I have plenty of time on my hands... too much, hence... this.

-thnx John

3D max is undoubtedly the world standard, Tom. i think you'll find they used it for Toy Story.
