Hey Gang

October 24, 2007

Hope you guys and gals are doing well. I am sitting in my trailer on the set of Freezerburn. Using this cool uplink machine to write this post in my blog, and check in with you guys. Pretty cool, considering we are in the middle of nowhere shooting. Way out in a wheat field, and I have to tell you, it is windy and cold. We have Final Cut Pro on the laptop here, so we are able to edit video and upload it to the site. From right here in the middle of nowhere. I just jumped off the back of this cool antique tractor from the 1940's. I also got a little interview in with it's owner, a farmer, who we met out here today. He let me drive his tractor for a minute. Unfortunately when I was driving the thing, I fell off of it. The darned thing nearly got away from me for a second. So we are editing that video here now, and it will be uploaded for you guys to enjoy sometime in the next hour or so. Stay tuned. And go check out the HD clips section here at tomgreen.com, to see some of the other goofy little clips we have been sending up over the last few weeks. I will be back in Los Angeles soon, and firing up the new and improved studio in November. We have made lots of big changes at the studio, (my living room) over the past month. So stay tuned for that. November and December are going to be really really fun months. Looking forward to getting back to Los ANgeles, and hopping on Skype and speaking to you guys LIVE during some of our upcoming LIVE shows. Thanks for sticking with The Channel gang. You guys all rock. And I am really glad to have you here. I have to go back to set now, I have some funny faces to make. Stay tuned for that clip. I will talk to you all soon! Tom Here's that video:

Swimming In Alberta

October 21, 2007

I was swimming today. It felt good. I think I am going to start eating better and trying to get back in shape. Not for any reason other than wanting to have more energy. It will be all in the name of webovision. I need to eat a bit better and excercise more. Swimming was great. There is this great swimming pool on the top floor of the hotel I am living in. I hadn't been up there yet. I've been here for three weeks, and I really regret not having gone up there sooner. They have a hot tub up there, I sat in the hot tub for a bit today. Started thinking about life a bit. I was hangin out with some friends, swimming, and talking about life. A pretty good day. I then went and had a salad for lunch. Felt pretty good about it. It tasted pretty nice with the two Margheritas and the conversation. My friend Mike and I have been goofin off all around the province up here on weekends. Pretty nice to get out of los angeles for a month and shoot a movie. And the movie is going to be great. I'm really excited about it. Working with Crispin Glover and everyone else has been very exciting. I always wanted to work with Crispin. I really enjoyed the whole process and we have several ridiculous and fun scenes together. Pretty excited for all of you guys to seee the film. Crispin wrapped on Friday, so he has flown off to tour with his movie. I'm here for anther two weeks, and am really excited about all the goofballism that should ensue. I love making movies. They really are a creative and exciting form. It's nice to be able to pretend you are somebody else for a month. In this case, a washed up hometown hockey hero, named Bill Swanson. I'm having a great time. Started talking about life today, while we were swimming. Actually, to be more specific, we were talking about death. I haven't had a whole lot of experience with death. Nobody close to me has ever died unexpectedly. I have had a few close calls myself. Cancer of course, at a young age can make you think a bit differently about the way you live. I think cancer, affected me well. I am glad to have beat it, and am glad that I learned from it. I think I just don't want to waste any moment. Because one day we could wake up, and it could be our last. But I was also thinking qute a bit about the process, of death itself. What exactly is that going to feel like. It must be terrifying that moment when you realize that this is it. That this is the moment that my conciousness is about to end. When you know for sure, that you are not coming back. I am afraid of facing that moment. What is going to happen? Where are we going to go? What is it going to feel like? I hope it feels just like falling asleep. I sometimes wonder if we possibly will continue on? Kind of like going to the next level in a video game. Moments after dying, looking around at all of your friends and family, and saying, what are we going to do now? Ohhhhhhh, this is what happens. Cool, wanna go to Starbucks? Or maybe even some speciatly coffee store that we haven't heard of yet. Something a lot less corporate, but still with great Mocha Latte's. Who know's. But I am kind of curious to learn more about it. I would like to know more about the process of death and dying. It bothers me. I have to get up at 6:30 in the morning tommorrow. Off to shoot more fun stuff. We have some ridiculous scenes that we are going to be shooting tommorrow. Ohh, another thing I was thinking about today. Magnets. Do people still play with magnets anymore? Have magnets lost their appeal amoung young people? I remember when I was a kid, before video games and colour television, I was pretty impressed by magnets. I thought of this today when I noticed a canadian dime stick to my cell phone. I realized that there was a magnet in the speaker. It's a blackberry, and the speaker magnet is so strong that you can actually pick up a dime with your phone. Pretty cool. I had actually kind of forgotten that speakers all have magnets in them. I remember how when I was a kid, I used to take apart old speakers, because they always had really good magnets in them. I remember using iron filings to entertain myself. I placed the iron filings on top of a thin table, and the magnet beneath. And you could make the iron filings move around, with the magnet underneath the table. Endless hours. Swiss army knives were fun also. And the smell of Playdough, plastercine, and if you are really getting crazy, Das. Man Das was for scerious playdough users. If you remember Das, let me know. And stretch arm strong, that was cool to. Just not as cool as magnets. Here is a cool guy we met out at the set in rural Alberta, in the small town of Thorsby.

I Hope You Folks Are Having A Great Day

October 18, 2007

photo-3.jpg I am having a great time up here in Edmonton. Things are going really well on the movie, we are shooting lots of goofy video on the set, and on weekends. Good times. I really have had a few great laughs hanging with Crispin. He told me a great joke at dinner about Harvey Pussucker the other day. I will have to have him tell it to you all when we get back on the air in November. It was one of those jokes where everyone at the table was laughing so hard we had tears streaming down our cheeks. Hilarious. I have the morning off today, but we will be heading into the set in a few hours. Probably going to be shooting fairly late today. We have moved locations since we shot the last video. Yesterday we were on this really cool sound stage. We will be back there soon, and I will get some video of the sets for you guys. Today we are shooting in a small town outside the city. Should be lots of characters out there on the set, and in the town. I will make a point to get some interviews for you guys and we can post them later tonight. I also wanted to let you guys know that there is lots of stuff going on right now back at The Channel. (My living room in los angeles) As we speak there is a set designer doing some re-painting and design work that we discussed before I left LA. There is a new curtain being put in to the studio. New color! New look! New lights are being installed. A greater seating area so we can have more people sitting in on the show. New technology! New cameras! Really cool new cameras that are going to be higher resolution, and stream 16:9 for the LIVE show. High definition liveness. And in a matter of days we are going to be swapping out the quicktime LIVE STREAM for a newer and more cutting edge format. It will work on all of your computers without errors, and bugs. There are also a whole bunch of other things happening that I can't talk about. Not because I am not allowed. But because I want them to be a suprise. Stay tuned. Things are going to get a little bit more interactive and ridiculous in Novemeber as we move into full pre-production for the new LIVE season. Stay tuned. And until then, check into the HD CLIPS section here at The Channel to see what I am up to, up here in Alberta. Have a great day. You guys rock. Tom
